Day 3 of Eskimos training camp was an interesting one!
-Veteran fullback Mathieu Bertrand has missed the first 3 days of camp, I’d assume injury.
-Long time Montreal kicker, and now with the Esks Damon Duval was shanking some of his first punts but he more than made up for it later in practice with some deep punts past the 10 yard line (while punting from midfield).
-Defensive back CJ Bailey was making an impact with a few impressive knockdowns of Ricky Ray passes.
-Matt Nichols has cannon for an arm but he overthrew a wide open Youssy Pierre by about 5 yards, the accuracy really needs work as he was also picked off in the mini scrimmages by Donovan Alexander.
-Fred Stamps dropped a ball that was right in the numbers but was as sure handed as a 1000 yard receiver should be for the rest of the practice.
-WR Adarius Bowman burned DB Rod Williams on back to back plays in the end zone, showing why the Esks picked him up.
-Defensive tackle Walter Curry was getting frustrated as Kyle Koch had him contained all day long in the scrimmages, hopefully he cools down tomorrow, he was steaming.
Much more to come in the week! As always I’m Avry and I’m gone!
