Well, this preseason for the Eskimos has been a tough one.

The Green and Gold were pummeled 37-22 on Friday night by the Calgary Stampeders in a game that saw improvement for some and a few steps backwards for others.

Calgary got out to an early 24-0 lead thanks to Henry Burris being on fire hooking up with Ken-Yon Rambo and Romby Bryant along with a Joffrey Reynolds rushing TD in the 1st quarter.

Ricky Ray looked shaky early on in the 1st half but was able to recover and get the team alive with a TD pass to Jason Barnes and Fred Stamps. The Esks were able to keep pace somewhat with the score 27-14 at halftime, but Lamarcus Coker widened that margin to 33-14 with a 47 yard rushing TD.

Kerry Joseph improved going 7-15 with a TD pass to Ray Fisher to make it a 33-21 game. A single from Damon Duval off a missed 36 yard field goal ended the scoring and left wanting Kavis Reed more improvement when the Esks start playing for keeps.

Edmonton’s first regular season game is on July 3rd vs. Saskatchewan in Regina and Calgary opens up the regular season vs. Toronto on Canada Day (July 1st) at home.

That's for now, I'm Avry and I'm out!
