Stamps tied for 1st in West, Roughriders keep falling.

The Calgary Stampeders were able to exit Saskatchewan with a 45-35 win on Friday night and move to 5-2 to tie the Edmonton Eskimos for 1st in the Western division on the year thanks to Henry Burris who threw for 3 TD ( to guys such as Jabari Arthur and Ken-Yon Rambo and Nik Lewis) passes in the win. It was a back and forth game as the Riders tried to stay in it for the most part thanks to the connection of Darian Durant to Hugh Charles through the air and the ground to keep pace with Calgary as it was only a 17-14 lead for the Stamps going into halftime.

The Stamps did blow things open in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 31-14 and with Durant driving his men down the field to try and shift the momentum ..BOOM Keon Raymond picked off Durant's pass in the endzone and returned it 116 yards to the house (3rd longest INT return for a TD in CFL history)!

Saskatchewan did show fight in the 4th quarter with a Charles TD catch and a Neal Hughes TD run but after a Joffrey Reynolds TD run made it a 45-28 game with the entrance of the Roughriders backup QB Ryan Dinwiddie to the game who threw a touchdown pass to Weston Dressler but the comeback would fall short for the Riders as their onside kick would go out of bounds after being touched last by Calgary.

The Roughriders fall to 1-6 on the year making things much more of a headache for first year coach Greg Marshall but they do face a fellow 1-6 team in the form of Toronto next on August 18th in Toronto. Calgary, has a bye week and plays again on August 27th at home vs Montreal.

That's all for now I'm Avry and I'm out!
